A wild plant, a Neophyte finds its way back into the cottage garden
The Canadian goldenrod (Solidago canadensis) is a neophyte (ie, a new immigrant) in our local nature. Originally introduced as an ornamental plant in North America, it has reintroduced itself. We have a way out of "wild" found in our back garden and grows magnificently since then. The plant reproduces itself and through its underground runners.
